Please write a paragraph or more to answer the following prompt:
After reading these chapters, you know about Auggie's experience with Halloween at school. Think about how Auggie must have felt when he heard Jack talking about him with the other boys. Writing from Auggie's point of view, write a letter to Jack Will and explain what you heard and how you feel. Remeber: when writing from a character's point of view you are using first person point of view using words like I, me, we, etc. Also, you need to use details from the story, you are not rewriting the story. Lastly, put yourself in Auggie's shoes. Really think about his emotions and use that in your letter to Jack Will. You can use the attached letter to help you format your letter!

ReplyDelete2.Jack Will thinks he should do something, like use squirt guns, just to make them stop.
3.Mr. Browne’s precept for October was “Your deeds are your monuments”. I think it means that every good deed you do is going to be there, and affect you in the future, like if you built a monument, it will be there for a while and people will know about it.
4.I think Auggie likes Halloween so much because he gets to put on a costume with a mask so people aren’t going to stare at him because his face is covered, and also because of trick-or-treating.
5.The mummies and Darth Sidious kept talking when Auggie sat next to them because he said he was going to dress as Boba Fett, so they didn’t know he was dressed up as the Bleeding Scream.
6.Dear Jack Will,
I heard what you said about me in school during Halloween. I can’t believe you lied about everything. I thought you were a good friend, but you have proven me wrong. I heard you say that if you looked like me, you would kill yourself. I felt like I wanted to run right out of school. I didn’t hear what you said afterwards, when Julian said you should just ditch me, because I ran out of the classroom. I guess maybe the people I should be squirting with slug juice and dog pee should be you and Julian.
